Dr. Aabid Ahmed is the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Investigator at Bomu Hospital, with over 18 years of experience in healthcare, clinical research, and palliative care. He holds a Bachelor’s in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Nairobi, a Master’s in Clinical Research Administration from the University of Liverpool, and a PhD in Public Health Epidemiology from Walden University.

Dr. Ahmed has led HIV, family planning, and reproductive health programs funded by the US and the Government of Kenya, and played a key role in transforming Bomu Medical Centre into Bomu Hospital, now a Level 4 facility. His doctoral research focused on integrating palliative care into HIV treatment for children, and he has published extensively in international journals. As a member of key global palliative care organizations, Dr. Ahmed brings valuable expertise in quality assurance, developing standard operating procedures, and integrating palliative care into healthcare systems to his role on the KEHPCA Board.
