With the rapid changes in the world, organizations need to ensure they update their constituents in the most efficient and effective way. Information shared needs to be regularly updated and must be accessible. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way organizations interact and share information. The pandemic has also created the need to have accurate and timely information shared with policymakers and members of the public to promote better practices. Due to the above developments, Kenya Hospices and Palliative Care Association (KEHPCA) realized the need to develop a new website to fit the current needs. This initiative was funded by the Open Society Foundations.
We are very excited to announce the launch of our new website. After a couple of months of hard work and dedication, we are delighted to officially announce that our new website is up and running. Accessed via https://kehpca.org/. Navigation is now faster and more user friendly. We have upgraded most of the features from our previous website and it is a breath of fresh air to navigate through our new and improved site.
The new website will enable the audience to understand KEHPCA’s structure, core services, and what palliative care entails. “We endeavor to provide our audience, partners, members, and volunteers with the most accurate up-to-date information and share our knowledge and expertise in palliative care” Dr. Zipporah Ali – Executive Director, Kenya Hospices and Palliative Care Association (KEHPCA). The search icon makes finding relevant information by users easier.
Our current and prospective audience, members, volunteers, and partners will find useful information about our Pillars, Mission, Vision, Goal, and Core Values on the Homepage. The Case for Support document will give details of how we are improving the quality of life for the vulnerable in Kenya with support from our partners.
Amongst the new features, the site contains integrated social media buttons for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and our Ehospice news to foster improved communication. We will be constantly updating our content with helpful information, KEHPCA announcements, and our achievement in the blog on our website, ehospice news, and our social media platforms.
The process of the new website development included induction to a strategic communication training to all KEHPCA staff by a consulting agency, Well Made Strategy, who unpacked the need for utilization of various channels of communication, a vibrant website included. Many thanks to the amazing staff members of KEHPCA for their dedication, time and energy to make this site what it is.
We would also like to thank our current development partners for their continuous support namely: African Palliative Care Association, Open Society Foundations, The Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa, American Cancer Society, The True Colours Trust, Hospice Care Kenya, Research Triangle Institute, and World Hospice and Palliative Care Alliance.
