From 4 – 7 October 2011 KEHPCA will partner with the Kenya Society of Haematology and Oncology (KESHO), Kenya Cancer Association (KENCASA) and CMF Health Services Trust to host an International Oncology Conference at the Sarova Panafric Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.

The conference theme Cancer: Translating new updates into local practice- prevention, clinical and palliative care will address the full spectrum of care for patients with cancer. Speakers will be drawn from local and international specialists, and around 100 conference attendees are expected.

Areas of focus will include Paediatric Oncology, Nursing issues in cancer care, management of gastrointestinal, muskoskeletal, head and neck, breast and gynecological cancers, management of Leukemia and Lymphoma, and cancer survivorship. Palliative Care will play a key role in the conference, with keynote presentations on palliative care for cancer patients in Kenya to be made by Dr Esther Munuro (Kenyatta National Hospital), Dr Helena Musau (KEHPCA), Dr Al Weir (University of Tenessee), David Makumi (the Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi),  Eliud Njuguna, and Dr John Weru (Thika Hospice).
