Guidelines for Poster Layout – 7th National Palliative Care Conference 2026

To ensure consistency, professionalism, and effective use of display space during the 7th National Palliative Care Conference 2026, presenters are requested to adhere to the following poster preparation guidelines.

Poster Format and Dimensions

  • Posters must be in portrait orientation with dimensions of 700 mm (width) x 1000 mm (height).
  • Clearly display your poster number at the top of the poster board.
  • Where applicable, include your abstract or submission number in the upper-left corner of the poster.

Poster Content

  • The title and author(s) must appear prominently at the top of the poster.
  • All posters must be prepared in English.
  • Ensure strong contrast between text and background to enhance readability.

Design and Layout Tips

  • Posters should clearly communicate the key message and be easily understood within a few minutes.
  • Organize content into clear sections, such as: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
  • Avoid large blocks of text; use short sentences and bullet points where possible.
  • Use section headings with a minimum font size of 36 pt and body text no smaller than 18 pt. Content should be legible from at least 5 metres (5 feet).
  • Limit text and make effective use of visual elements such as graphs, tables, illustrations, and photographs. Visuals should be relevant, clear, and not overcrowded.

Additional Information

  • Presenters may provide handouts of their poster and business cards for delegates interested in their work.
  • If your poster or supporting materials are available online, include a URL or QR code for easy access.
  • Presenters are expected to be available at their poster during designated break times to engage with delegates.

Adhering to these guidelines will help ensure a high-quality and uniform poster exhibition experience for all participants.
